So sad its hard to even watch, to think we go and take our children to see these imprisioned and enslaved creatures, and for those folks that have a brain beween their ears, giving some thought to knowing that really the only thing they really want is to be free and go back to their natural envirenment. the biggest problem with social media is a bunch of know it alls who know nothing at all. You may have freedom of opinion, but unless you are an expert on the situation, dont be trying to tell everyone in no uncertaininty what this animal is thinking or feeling! you dont know do you? I get it, everyone on face book is an expert these days huh….
This a animal should be in the wild not imprisoned in a zoo. The BBC should not be supporting and encouraging the exploitation of wild animals. A child’s paddling pool is not something we should ever think is cute, funny, or appropriate for a Gorilla. Shame on you BBC.
If it weren’t for zoos there are many people who might never get to see a gorilla, or a giraffe, or a panda/A lot of these animals are endangered and having them in zoos helps to preserve the species. Most zoos today provide a natural type habitat for their animals. Lastly, did you ever stop to think that it may have been too cold or too hot for the gorilla to be outside and the small pool was supplied so he could have some fun while confined in an indoor enclosure? Where’s his family? Where are trees, shrubbery, wild fruits for him to snack on.. if 25th is is conservation it sucks really..bars and a plastic tub, a momentary diversion from captivity and terminal boredom. Better they all die in Africa than this prison.
How nice… behind bars, in a room made of concrete, in a plastic kiddy pool. Depressing. Dallas Zoo, if you care for animals, send them all to sanctuaries where they can live a semi-normal life.
Dallas zoo is considered to be a good zoo and the gorilla enclosure, inside and out, is brilliant … sadly gorillas are in great danger and need the protection that we as a species owe them.. in amazing spaces where natural habitat can be imitated and where the emotional and physical welfare of the animal is the primary concern and focus. There may come a time when the world becomes a safer place for wildlife then, the zoos will become extinct instead of the amazing animals we share this planet with. BBC
