As much as there has been a lot of death this year (and my Dad was one of them from cancer), people who are seriously ageing in years are to be expected to pass. Loved Liz Smith but I would have given anything for my Dad to live to 95! Or 90 like David Attenborough currently is. Liz Smith was part of my childhood. My parents ( Eric & Winifred Southwell) knew her when she lived in Buckhurst Hill before she began her acting career. My sincerest condolences to her son and daughter. I remember her playing Mrs Cropley in the Vicar of Dibley and how she made chocolate cakes, yes honest, with a hint of Marmite. She was so funny and I am very sad to read that she has passed away. This Christmas is not a good for the entertainment industry. RIP Liz.
Well the grim reaper isn’t finished yet I’ll bet — as we have a few days left till the end of the year. Will be a hell of a Hogmanay up there with the amount of celebrities who have passed away. BBC
