Unfortunately, Biden also inherited a Biden Lied People Died Blood On His Hands Anti Biden Vintage Tee Shirt country in chaos. Right now, he needs to focus on keeping the U.S. from crumbling into chaos. If it means some select isolationist stuff, it’ll have to. Trump did a lot to damage us internally, and we’re wounded. Well the rest of the world is free to backfill the position that the US held if they really think that it’s worth investing in, otherwise they should get their finger out of biden’s face because we don’t have to be held hostage to it. If it’s that important to them then man up and send some resources of your own back to the country. Why did they leave?
The lack of coordination is regrettable and does rest on Biden but since when does the full burden fall on the US alone? Did those countries ever have a backup plan for what would happen when the US pulled out? I think a lack of planning on their part is what surprised them. BBC

Americans fail to realize that our influence in the world has always been contingent on our willingness to engage with the world, to commit resources (economic, military, etc.) for the benefit of the global community rather than just ourselves.
While this is not required, and we can withdraw and look inwards, we should understand that such actions are not without consequences. We will in that scenario have less global influence and respect.
I think some of what we are seeing is a hyperpower past its prime, not unlike the UK in the early 1900’s. America will not hold the commanding lead in military and economic power that it has held in recent decades. The ascent of China and other more populous countries will inevitably reduce America’s relative power. The world has not figured out how to handle this yet.
Europe and the US remain natural allies, and while there will be rough patches, I expect the alliances to largely hold – but Europe will need to understand also that America alone cannot and will not protect the global order. We are heading into a more multipolar international community, and we will all have to work to preserve peace and promote a world in which we can all live.
We have plenty of challenges to face as a global community – and we must all do our part. Despite a poorly executed Afghanistan exit, Biden does basically understand this, while Trump really felt America could go it alone. This can be seen in Biden’s willingness to work on climate issues and rejoining of the Paris accords. Most Americans and most Europeans want good relations, but a lot remains to be worked out. The old order is definitely showing signs of its age.
