This is just a money making racket praying on peoples need to travel in an emergency. I hope the government, hotels, etc get rightfully sued for forcing people to pay for being imprisoned. And to think people are having to pay for the pleasure. These hotels need to be named and shamed and closed down. The lady that went out despite being positive was wrong. They all knew they had to isolate on return don’t leave country then. The hotel was a disgrace!!! Turns out the UK needs to learn from other countries quarantined. Always ready to take your money and not deliver good service. So do you think Britain should just open borders and stop quarantine? Hope you have enough hospitals! Here we are in the age of entitlement, let’s hope there’s never a war, can you imagine! The hotels should be made to refund the unfortunate traveller’s money, and next time the Government need to check that the hotels have an idea of what the basic sense of hygiene is before approving them as Quarantine Hotels. People are willing to pay the extortionate amount of money to have to isolate, they should be treated with respect and feed decent food. Rooms should be deep cleaned when each person leaves to ensure cleanliness. Prisoners get treated better. They should stop calling them hotels, as really they’re quarantine centres that are using hotels since they have bedrooms. Calling them hotels creates the expectation of hospitality and room service, and whilst a lot of the complaints we see are justified, nobody should be seeing it as an extension of their holiday. No, but I am not saying actual percentages like ‘1 or 2%’. I have however read loads of distressing posts from people in these quarantine hotels and seen some of their food photographs. The security guards seem to be on some ridiculous power trip and the food they get I wouldn’t give to my dog, let alone to someone paying around £2000. Absolutely SCANDALOUS. The people and families were ‘housed’ here to stay safe, but it looks like a swamp of diseases. How the hell can this happen in a civilised country. Come on UK government, they need help, do not neglect them, and to suffer any more than they have to. BBC.

Absolutely revoltingly inhumane!!! You can’t treat people like that and get thousands of pounds from them…. This government needs suing and overturned! That’s what happens when you travel during pandemic. I travel abroad every year for holiday, sometimes 2-3 a year. But since covid19 started never been anywhere and wasn’t going take any risk. Hmm, I’d love to see a breakdown of the costs. This said from a quarantine hotel in one of the worlds most expensive cities-Singapore. Day 13 of a 14 day stay for me. Not out of the room at all (as it should be, or it isn’t any kind of quarantine), 3 meals a day, picked from a menu. Great hotel overlooking Marina Bay, cost? Including all tests/transport/food/hotel in GBP- £1350 or so. Definitely a UK rip off going on. Sometimes travel will be emotionally necessary to the person, to say goodbye to a loved one for example, so surely the contract should include hygiene, healthy food and access to fresh air somehow? I suspect like many contracts this simply won’t be monitored and sampled and as always a few private people will get rich.
