I think that’s a bit too much, adopting a different anthem for one racial group in the country is like setting them apart from other groups, not only whites, but indigenous and descendants of immigrants from all across the globe, it’s like saying they need a nation of their own, like they don’t belong in the US. You take away the communion they had with other groups within the nation, I think it’s a dangerous thing to do, it can make things worse. When different groups live together they need to have something in common, when this one thing is brushed out you have balkanization and increase in hate between the groups. I mean, if they want it to be a song to represent a movement it’s quite a normal thing, but using it in official ceremonies makes me feel like it’s another nation within one nation, that’s exactly what people want to avoid, correct me if I’m wrong. This is ridiculous. And nothing against the song, it is a beautiful and important song. But if we want true Unity then we should act like it! Having a different “national anthem” based on race for different people is about the most divisive thing I have ever heard of! It’s time we start acting like Americans from the UNITED States and not “white Americans” or “black Americans”! Stop the division! There is and should be ONE National Anthem for ALL Americans! sn’t that a bit divisive to separate yourself from others when all sensible human beings shoukd aim for equality and inclusivity? As a smart man one said “Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. Hate multiplies hate, violence multiplies violence, and toughness multiplies toughness in a descending spiral of destruction.” How about a charity for under privileged Afro Americans with every Afro American player donating both time and sensible money? Now reread what I aforementioned and substitute the word black for the word white and tell me how it sound to you. Judge people by the content of their character, not by the colour of their skin, who said these words again, maybe the message was lost. Way to divide a country even more.
