This would be a serious incident if someone got badly injured and no-one kept a report with her details? I do them for a lot less…It’s about time the race organisers took responsibility for keeping racers and spectators safe – they need to put measures in place. Employ marshals who can ask people to stand back when the riders are coming through.

It’s amazing this hasn’t happened sooner. The way some spectators jump into the path of the riders, pushing them along, crowding round them etc.

How an accident hadnt happened before is beyond me as the spectators get far too close. This ridiculous woman has caused severe injuries to many riders. She could still be seen at the scene after, so why didn’t the authorities apprehend her at the time. In a world of health and safety and negligence claims the spectators need to be further back from tge riders, full stop. The person should face consequences. They caused one rider to be injured to the point where they had to drop out. But also I think barriers need to be set up along the route.
